Travelbound: Travel copywriting – 1000 excursions

THE CLIENT: From Berlin’s Bauhaus archive to the ruins of Ancient Greece, educational tour company Travelbound takes students to the places that bring their chosen subject to life.

THE JOB: Be Content was tasked with describing a thousand separate excursions available around the world, across multiple disciplines from art and architecture to classics, business to music and geography. Our challenge was to express the brand’s scholarly expertise to impress academic experts, while also making the travel copywriting accessible and exciting, inspiring teachers and students to book.

EXCERPTS:

Blue Mosque, Istanbul
A massive, yet light and airy structure with seven minarets, the Blue Mosque was built at the behest of Sultan Ahmet I, whose aim was to surpass the beauty of the Aya Sofya, The inside is covered with shimmering blue-green Iznik tiles interspersed with stained-glass windows. Students can gaze upwards and consider the might of the Ottoman Empire.

Harlem Gospel and Jazz Tours
Harlem is steeped in history, from its origins as a rural Dutch community through the cultural clashing of the 60s and 70s, to contemporary summer retreat. At the turn of the century it was a melting pot for African-American artists. Musically led tours tell the story of this diverse district through the high energy and charm that stirs in its heart.

Dalí Museum, Paris
This permanent exhibition in Montmartre is devoted to master of surrealism. It holds the largest collection Dalí sculptures in France, showing the artist’s fantastic imagination in three dimensions, as well as Dalí’s complete collection of rare hand-signed etchings illustrating the major themes of universal literature, mythology, history, and religion.
